Gingko Biloba extract (standardized to 24%) with a suitable dosage, has demonstrated to have beneficial activities in the treatment of cochlea-vestibular disorders: Acting as potent antagonist of PAF, it reduces platelet aggregation, the thrombo-formation and the capillary permeability. Activities relevant to hemodynamic and hematic-rheological aspects Regulation activity with reduction of the capillary permeability by increasing the resistance of the vessel walls Direct effects against necrosis and neuronal apoptosis as evidenced in the course of vestibular compensation Animal models suggest an action at molecular and cellular levels as scavenger of free radicals and inhibitor of the lipidic peroxidation Maintenance of ATP content by protecting mitochondrial respiration and oxidative phosphorylation.

Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid contained inside of cell membranes and it is therefore involved in numerous functions related to the membranes. It is the main constituent of nerve cells Many vital functions including the production of ATP, ionic homeostasis, activation thresholds, excitability, communication capacity and the cell deactivation depend on its presence. It is an effective antioxidant, especially as response to iron-mediated oxidation

L-acetylcarnitine is an “ortho-molecula” that provide substantial benefits to the cerebral metabolism. - it crosses the barrier of eukaryotic cells, reaches the mitochondria, activates respiration and energy and also it assists the repair and growth factors (NGF) in the central and peripheral nervous system. - It is a cofactor in the mitochondrial production of energy starting from fatty acids in neurons, thus contributing significantly to their energy needs.

GLUTAMIC ACID: tonic of the CNS, it is also used in the decline of intellectual performance PHOSPHORUS: it is an essential component of cell protoplasm playing an essential role in the biochemical synthesis and energy transfer. It is a component of the nervous tissues.

LINOLEIC ACID: it is required in the diet of mammals being a precursor of prostaglandins. These are present in tissues and body fluids, with a high degree of structural specificity and a wide range of action: vasomotor tone, capillary permeability, functions of CNS, platelet aggregation and regulation of the concentration at cell level of AMP and GMP (a constituent of nucleic acids and of many nucleotides biologically important). Furthermore, recent researches have shown that linoleic acid maintains and, even if slightly, increases the HDL cholesterol, which acts as coronary protection.

VITAMIN C: it important in man for the multiple functions not yet fully known. It acts to strengthen the immune system and it plays an antioxidant action.

VITAMIN E: it is known mainly for its antioxidant action in protecting cell membranes; this action seems aimed primarily to red blood cells avoiding the haemolysis and to platelets inhibiting partially the aggregation.

VITAMIN B1: it is very important for the nervous and circulatory system: its deficiency can cause serious injury to these systems.

VITAMIN B6: it acts as a coenzyme in the protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. A deficiency can cause depression in adults and seizures in children. In recent uses it is recommended in the prevention of drug-induced extrapyramidal disorders.

VITAMIN B12: it is indicated in the forms of anaemia and it is of fundamental importance for the cells with high rate of replication and therefore for the myelination of nerve fibres.

POTASSIUM: It is an important cation of the intracellular fluid. Its importance is related to the maintenance of renal function and to the excitability of certain cells of the nervous and muscular tissue.

MAGNESIUM: Body is very rich of this mineral and it is, after potassium, the most important intracellular cation. It acts directly at the level of the neuromuscular junction and is a coenzyme that performs, at level of the nervous system, important physiological and electrochemical actions.

SELENIUM: is represents an essential constituent of glutathione peroxidase (GSPH). Its deficiency causes the potentially harmful oxidation of cell membranes by free radicals. The antioxidant action is synergistic with that of Vitamin E.

BLUEBERRY: it is very rich in anthocyanins, belonging to the P vitamin factors class. They are active on the permeability and strength of the wall of the capillary, on the synthesis of retinal pigment: they operate favourably also in some ophthalmic diseases and in night vision.
